So simple to use for creating image file(s) of your OS and only takes up to 10min for XP and up to 20min for vista/win7 to restore your system, depending on size and compression used. By creating a pc-dos bootup CD with just the ghost.exe and its command line switches to do all the work automatically, what would normally take 4-6 hours reinstalling the OS along with all your programs and updating every single time, now you can restore in mere minutes. Im sure theres people here that would swear by using another solution like acronis, which can created your backups/images within windows onto a seperate partition or onto an external device, but i prefer the DOS experince, the OS lays dormant so no changes will happen during imaging, unlike what could happen while in windows. Thing is that i've taken the image file(2.88mb) from the pc-dos cd and modified it to my liking and then creating a custom pc-dos bootup cd so that way i will not have to have norton ghost install on the OS. Unlike acronis. So in a sense, theres no need to buy acronis for every single machine i plan on creating images or backups on, everything i need is on the pc-dos cd and thats it.
